At theMill, an important part of our ethos is that we strive to serve something other than ourselves. We are committed to supporting others and giving back to the community.
In following this philosophy, each year we run or participate in community events that support our chosen charities. In acknowledgement of the efforts of those who assist our servicemen and women, theMill supports a number of charities including:
City Descent 2013
A charity abseil down the 51 stories of the Central Park Tower in Perth was undertaken in March 2013. Only a limited number of places were offered for this exclusive event – 20 people took part and $40,000 was raised for the SASR Trust.
Kids in Crisis (AngliCare)
A fitness program was run by theMill for the Anglicare Kids in Crisis. This involved the kids coming in to theMill every week to train and be mentored by theMill Trainers under the guidance of the Anglicare Counsellors.
Lord Taverners State Indoor Cricket (Indoor Men’s)
In 2013 theMill trainers provided strength and conditioning coaching and mentoring for the Autistic Men’s state indoor cricket team.
The coaching was in preparation for the Autistic Australian Indoor Cricket Titles. The team placed 2nd in Australia which was their best ever result to date.
Australian Hero Games
In November 2013 theMill participated in the Australian Hero Games – an Australia-wide online fitness competition. Money raised was donated to the Commando Welfare Trust.
