HAVOC CAMP

INFORMATION PACK

GENERAL OUTLINE

Havoc is an intensive immersive experience designed to teach students the fundamental principles of working in austere environments. This camp is not at the SAME level OF physical intensity REQUIRED ON THE Cadre Camp, or Chaos Camp, you do not need to undertake a fitness program leading into the camp, nor will you be required to undertake a fitness test while on the camp.

You do not need to undertake and pre-camp studies or training to participate in this camp. You will be taught all the skills you need to know to succeed.

This camp will be comprehensive experience covering both sides of personal security and safety in austere environments:

1) the requirements of the traveller in planning and conducting travel in austere conditions. Students will be schooled in individual and team safety and security procedures and tactics to minimise the chance of falling victim to public safety incidents, force majeure, theft, assault and abduction.

2) providing an insight into the processes Special Missions Units undertake in order to find and recover a hostage. Students will experience a small insight into what SMU’s do to secure and repatriate Nationals to safety.

The camp program follows a simulated military Special Operations themed mission planning, preparation and execution format. Attendees will be subject to military themed training including physical activities like self-defence and self-protection techniques and HOSTILE-detection techniques.

The student group IS broken into teams who will undertake training in required skills and be given a specific mission to complete at the culmination of the CAMP. How the team manages the body of work while meeting mission objectives and personal requirements will be up to the INDIVIDUAL teams.

Teams will be provided with mentoring from our experienced staff in learning the required skills and knowledge and achieving mission success.

Students are expected to ensure that they are physically prepared and have all the necessary equipment specified in this information pack. All equipment is to be rugged, serviceable and ready-to-use.
